Animals

I have found a few amazing tutorials that helped me combine weaves to create a dragon and an owl.  I haven't made too many of them so far, but the ones I have made turned out very cute.

The owls are really versatile and can be made in two different sizes and SO MANY different colors!  They can be simple decorations, pendants, tree ornaments, or almost anything really.  They're also super cute!

I have also made a couple of Dragons!  They can be a statuette sort of figure or can be worn as what some call and hand flower and some call a slave bracelet.  I wear one this way with my costume for the Renaissance Festival!  I even tried it on as a dragon choker, that may take some tweaking but it can be done.

There are a ton of variations of the dragons that I have seen, but I have only made it the one way so far.

New Captures

Pixie Snowflake The first of the new captures is called Pixie Snowflake.  It features a Swarovski Crystal Rivoli in Sapphire.  It is a gorgeous design from Dawdling Dragons.  This one is the pendant size, but it can also be made in earring size.   The second is called Crystal Cascade. This one, in particular, is made with rainbow hematite beads and a Swarovski Crystal Rivoli in the color called Vitrail Medium.  It is a stunning piece and, while a little big for any pendant I personally would wear, it is an amazing statement piece or even an ornament if you choose. Crystal Cascade Pendant The next is a collection of captures done in aluminum and rubber and connected with Byzantine units to support the weight and give the piece some stability.  It is the Galaxy Necklace and features Swarovski Crystal Rivolis in Emerald. So..

I know I'm off to a bit of a rough start on this.  I'm still trying to work out exactly how to go about it.  I suppose since I already told you a little about me and what got me started on making chainmaille jewelry, I'll try to describe a little bit about how I'm going about running it as a business. For right now I just have Facebook, Instagram, and word of mouth to get my name and creations out there.  I am hoping that this blog will help as well and will be somewhere for those who may not have social media accounts to get to know me and see my work so they know what they're getting when they make a purchase.  My goal is to hopefully get more people interested in what I'm making and get a bigger base for sales.  I also hope to get some people interested in chainmaille in general because it's pretty amazing stuff. Scales!

Another update today included some pieces I have completed recently using scales. Candle Skirt in Sunflower Position Candle Skirt in Lotus Position First, the Lotus Candle Skirt made with aluminum scales and stainless steel rings. It was made to fit a tealight candle, but can be altered to fit almost anything round. It fits in the closed position, called "lotus position" or the open position, called "sunflower position". It is a great decoration! I have also made these adorable scale flowers. I made one in each color and also a multi-colored one with some leftover scales and rings.  I added a ring to one and wear it as a pendant, but can also attach a pin backing or hairclip.
